Slope Sistair Slopestyle Course Tour

Today there are 13 of the top women freeriders in North America practicing for the Slope Sistair competition this weekend at Hemlock resort. Yesterday the RipTv crew were out helping dig, build, and paint and got a tour of the course and some initial reactions of some of the riders on camera. They slapped together a quick edit for you to enjoy!

Slope SistAir Ladies Freeride Event

Hemlock Valley Resort, a regional destination for outdoor recreation, is pleased to announce the first-ever, women’s freeride invitational. On September 1st-3rd, this slopestyle competition will offer the top women in North America a chance to showcase their skills in front of a panel of celebrities and a large audience. Expect to see riders such as Barb Haley, Darcy Turenne, Hannah Steffans, and Katrina Strand throwing down at this premiere event.

North Shore Pain

I really hate getting a flat on the trail. I know some of you freaks of nature can change a flat in something stupid like 6 minutes, but it takes me 30 at least, 45 if I’m pissed off. I cheaped out on tires and tubes again so now I’m walking. I REALLY REALLY hate walking. I still have the 1 good ankle so only half of the walk was painfull and unpleasant. I think the trail was called : “Seven K up , after the 5th switch back, on the left hand side, about 25 feet past the big stump!”, or something like that.

Foes Inferno - first Ride

Last month I got an email from Eric at Foes Racing, asking me if I would like to test the Foes Inferno. Reading about the Inferno on the Foes website it says that the Inferno is NOT a freeride bike. One look at this sexy rig and claming that this bike is anything less is like saying that the knee high boot wearing girls at the corners of Richards street don't like to party. We'll be the judge of that, and if you are lucky, you will too.

Ben Shelton passed away. 1974 - 2005

My very good friend Ben Shelton died of Staphylococcus Aureus related symptoms on March 30th, 2005. Some of you may not know Ben directly, but he was a great friend in the biking community, always helping maintain the Pinkbike servers and as a result making sure things ran smoothly for all you viewers. More importantly Ben was a really good friend of mine who I corresponded with on an almost daily basis.
