Rocky Mountain Bicycles

Published Oct 13, 2003 at 19:56
First off, Rocky has eliminated many of the model names in their lineup into “families” of bikes. In most of their lineup, (exceptions to follow) models will be differentiated by numbered suffixes (30-50 or 70 with 30 being the lowest end model) to denote spec.
The RM7 has been replaced by the RMX lineup, available in a Wade Simmons Signature frameset, top line Team, mid level Pro and “self titled” RMX.

New World Disorder IV Premiere Goes Off!

Published Oct 13, 2003 at 17:06
What happens when you mix at least 750 drunk or damn near drunk cyclists, 50 or more of the industry’s finest representatives, another 100 poor folks waiting in line hoping to get in, countless over-zealous bouncers (who apparently don’t like crowd surfing), what could very be the world’s best AC/DC cover band, a little bit of Red Bull and the latest installment in the New World Disorder family?

Calgary to Host World Cup Triple

Published Oct 13, 2003 at 16:51
It was announced late last week that Calgary has been given a World Cup Triple for the 2004 race season. Slated for July 2-4, and hosted by Canada Olympic Park, expect to see some exciting (and unique) spectator "interaction" at the event. The folks that brought you the Trans Rockies Challenge will take care of organization and promotion, and I've gotten word that the boys from Joyride may move their post-WC show from Whistler to a closer-to-Calgary venue. Locals should plan on making some time in their schedules to volunteer for the event and make it a huge success. Got to get back to the show!

On board with Pete from Norco

Published Sep 22, 2003 at 18:50
Earlier this summer Norco put on a customer appreciation event called VPSFest at no place other than the best - Whistler BC.

Pinkbike was there to take in the action and when my trusty SC iron malfunctioned due to brake line difficulty I was saddled on a swanky new Norco Team North Shore and went up for a tour with the man calling the shots, Pete Stace-Smith.
As you would expect from a company that brings you tried and true pedal machines for any occasion, the top brass at Norco know their bikes, but better yet, sure know how to ride them.

All aboard for a top to bottom run on Schleyer, DH course, and others. Pete in front , Radek in the back with head cam from Viosport and to the soothing tunes of our favorite biking band Removal.

Also, unedited, uncut, full runs of the top 5 riders.

Published Sep 2, 2003 at 13:13
If you consider yourself a serious rider, it is likely that you are one of the ever-increasing majority who have either heard of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park and/or experienced its “adrenaline-fuelled, gravity-fed” descents. If you fall into the minority who don’t know about the ultimate shuttle-like experience (i.e.: you live in a trailer with no power and your bike is a ’73 Monshee Sport Cruiser) you are missing out on a smorgasbord of drops, tables, tech sections, and high speed DH runs on butter-smooth berm'd-up trails catered by the undisputed industry leader in lift-accessed mountain biking – Whistler Blackcomb.
